Sr. Sara Heyl - 1st Team

Sr. Colleen Sherk - 1st Team

Jr. Ashley Kreiner - 2nd Team

Jr. Karen Stoklosa - 2nd Team

Four Clarion University women’s volleyball players are all-conference in a voting by the league’s coaches.

Seniors Sara Heyl (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) and Colleen Sherk (Wilmington, Del./Concord) are first-team choices, while juniors Ashley Kreiner (London, Ohio/London) and Karen Stoklosa (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) are second-team selections.

“I am very happy and very proud of all four players,” Clarion head coach Tracey Fluharty. “All four of them have worked very hard to be where they are today, and all four of them have been a big part of what we have been able to accomplish this season.”

Clarion is 29-8 on the season and finished 6-4 in the PSAC-West good for second place. The Golden Eagles have qualified for the NCAA Playoffs for the third straight year (Clarion plays Lees-McRae at 5 p.m. Thursday at Lock Haven in the first round) and qualified for the PSAC Playoffs for the first time since 1990.

Heyl leads Clarion with 511 kills and is second on the team with 481 digs and 34 set assists while adding 68 blocks. Her 4.09 kills per game rank fourth in the PSAC.

Sherk is second on the team in kills (500) and blocks (103). She ranks third in the PSAC in kills per game (4.13) and second in hitting percentage (.399). This season marks the second straight year Sherk is an all-conference selection. She was a second-team choice last year.

Kreiner has already set the single-season set assists record at Clarion with 1,620 this year, and her 13.39 assists per game is the top mark in the PSAC. She is adding 127 kills, 288 digs and 77 blocks.

Stoklosa leads the team in blocks with 189 while adding 235 kills, 32 service aces and 92 digs. Her .331 hitting percentage ranks fifth in the conference while her 1.55 blocks per game is the fourth best mark in the PSAC.
