CLARION’S HEYL NAMED PSAC-WEST CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

            Clarion University senior Sara Heyl (Midlothian, VA/Clover Hill) is the PSAC-West co-volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 31.

            Heyl helped the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 week with wins over IUP and Gannon by averaging 5.14 kills and 5.57 digs per contest as Clarion pushed its win streak to eight.

            In a 3-0 win over IUP, she had 18 kills and 19 digs then registered 18 kills and 20 digs in a 3-1 win over Gannon.

            With Clarion’s 3-0 win over Slippery Rock Tuesday, the Golden Eagles clinched their first outright PSAC-West playoff berth since 1990.

            It is the second time this season Heyl has been named PSAC-West Player of the Week.

            NOTES – The Golden Eagles end the regular-season Saturday at Edinboro … Edinboro’s Marissa DiLiberato shared the PSAC-West Player of the Week award with Heyl.
