GOLDEN EAGLES SPLIT WITH WHEELING JESUIT; LEES-MCRAE

CLARION – Clarion’s women’s volleyball team concluded play in the Holiday Inn/Clarion Classic Saturday splitting its games against Wheeling Jesuit and Lees-McRae.

The Golden Eagles lost to Wheeling Jesuit 3-0 (30-24, 30-25, 30-23) in the morning but rebounded to beat Lees-McRae 3-1 (30-27, 30-18, 31-33, 30-18) in the afternoon.

Against Wheeling Jesuit Melanie Bull had nine kills and 21 digs and Jackie Hill added 21 set assists.

Versus Lees-McRae, Hill had 47 set assists, Bull had 17 kills and Beth Stalder had 16 kills and eight digs.

Clarion, now 18-3 on the season, is back in action Tuesday at Edinboro at 7 p.m.

Clarion's Sara Heyl was rewarded with a spot on the All-Tournament team.
