MELANIE BULL NAMED PSAC-WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK |
| Clarion University junior volleyball player Melanie Bull is
the PSAC-West "Player of the Week" for the week ending Oct. 5. Bull was a steady influence in Clarion’s 5-1 week that included a 4-1 showing at the Holiday Inn/Clarion Classic over the weekend. She averaged 4.8 kills and 5.15 digs per game, totaling 96 and 103, respectively. In a 3-1 PSAC win over Slippery Rock Tuesday she led the Golden Eagles with 26 kills, 15 digs and three blocks. Later in the week at the Clarion Classic she notched 17 kills and 36 digs, as Clarion downed Slippery Rock again in four games. Over the weekend Bull, along with teammate Beth Stalder, became only the third and fourth players in Clarion history to record 1,000 or more career kills. Bull now has 1,060 kills and ranks third in school history behind Jodi Pezek (1,444) and Jessa Canfield (1,104). NOTES: Clarion is 18-2 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC-West ... The Golden Eagles are at Edinboro Tuesday ... Clarion is just two wins shy of posting back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1989 and 1990 teams each went over 20 victories ... Clarion finished second at the Holiday Inn/Clarion Classic. Wheeling Jesuit won the tournament with a mark of 5-0.
