GOLDEN EAGLES RICHARD, WHEATLEY SET SCHOOL MARKS AT PENN RELAYS

PHILADELPHIA – Clarion University’s Erin Richard and Tasha Wheatley each set school records at the Penn Relays Thursday night.

Richard set the school record in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:41.39, which is an automatic NCAA Division II qualifying time. She finished third in the Women’s Olympic Development Race and was the top college racer in the event. Her time broke the school record, which she set last year, by nearly 25 seconds. The previous record was 17:06.01.

Wheatley, meanwhile, finished 11th in the Women’s College 3,000-meter Steeple Chase in a school-record time of 11:07.43, breaking her own mark of 11:11.44 set earlier this season. She was top NCAA Division II runner in the race.
