PRINCETON, NJ – Erin Richard and Tasha Wheatley each set school records while running Top 5 times in NCAA Division II this season at the Sam Howell Distance Races at Princeton University Friday night.
Richard won the 10,000-meter run against mainly NCAA Division I competition in a blistering time of 35:38.90, which was over a minute faster than second-place finisher Sarah Bourne of Harvard (36:44.44). Her time was the fastest in D-II this season.
Wheatley, meanwhile, ran the fifth fastest time in D-II this season in the 3,000-meter Steeple Chase putting in a time of 11:11.44 while finishing 10th overall and first among D-II runners.
Clarion, which had meets at both IUP and Washington & Jefferson cancelled this weekend, returns to action April 14 at Slippery Rock.
