CLARION’S RICHARDS EARNS PSAC INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONOR

            Clarion University junior Erin Richard (Erie/McDowell) is the PSAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

            Richard earned the award after winning the 3,000-meter run at the Bucknell Bison open in a blistering time of 9:59.86. That mark broke her school record by over 10 seconds and leads all PSAC competitors in 2007 by over 24 seconds.

            Richard is the defending PSAC Indoor champion in the 3,000 and the Distance Medley Relay while taking second in the Indoor Mile. She is also the defending PSAC outdoor champion in both the 1,500 and 3,000, and she qualified for last year’s NCAA outdoor championships in both the 3,000 (9^th place) and 5,000 (14^th place).
