CLARION’S SWANSON TIES 26-YEAR OLD SCHOOL RECORD

            Clarion junior Sonya Swanson (Kersey/St. Marys) tied a 26-year old school record in the 200-meter dash when she ran a 25.9 Saturday at the PSAC-West Challenge at California.

            Swanson, who finished third in the race, tied Penny Gray’s school record that was set in 1980.

            The school record holder in the indoor 200 as well (27.49), Swanson was an outdoor PSAC qualifier in the 100 and 200 last year finishing eighth in the 200.

            A Special Education major, Swanson is the daughter of Linda Muroski.

            GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES – Clarion returns to action Wednesday and Thursday at Mt. SAC in Walnut, Calif. The Eagles run in two additional meets in California running at Pomona-Pitzer Friday and Soka University Saturday.
