CLARION’S RICHARD NAMED  PSAC WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Clarion University sophomore Erin Richard (Erie/McDowell) is the PSAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after a record-setting performance Saturday.

Richard smashed the Western Pennsylvania Track Champion meet record in the 5,000 winning the race in a time of 17:41.94. She beat the previous meet and track record at Carnegie Mellon by 14 seconds. The time, which broke the school record, ranks her second in the PSAC and among the top 10 nationally. It also provisionally qualifies her for NCAA Division II nationals.
