TWO CLARION ATHLETES TO COMPETE IN D-II NCAA MEET |

| Two Clarion University track and field athletes will compete
in the 2004 NCAA Division II National Track and Field Meet being held May
28-30 at Cal-Pomona. Returning NCAA placewinner junior Melissa Terwilliger (Blasdell, NY/Frontier) will compete in the 10,000-meter run, while Carrie Bullman (Chicora/Karns City) will make her third straight appearance at nationals to throw the javelin. Terwilliger enters the national meet as the 15th-seed in the 10,000 having posted a top time of 36:11.98 in the event this season. Last year she was fifth at the NCAA D-II meet in a school-record time of 35:57.99. At last week’s PSAC Track and Field Championships at Slippery Rock, Terwilliger ran both the 3,000 and 5,000. She took seventh in the 3,000 in a time of 10:32.66 and fourth in the 5,000 in a time of 18:09.34. She was third in both events at last year’s PSAC’s. Bullman, meanwhile, finished 11th at the NCAA meet last year with a throw of 135-11 after taking 12th in 2002. Bullman is the 17th seed in this year’s event having tossed a season-best throw of 142-9. Last week at the PSAC’s finished second with a throw of 142-9. NOTES: Terwilliger will compete Thursday, while Bullman while compete Saturday … Clarion finished eighth at the PSAC Championship’s last weekend with 30.5 points … The Golden Eagles are coached by 10th year head coach Pat Mooney … Last season Clarion finished 44th at the NCAA meet with Terwilliger and Julie Evenoski (8th in the javelin) scoring the Golden Eagles’ points.
