PSAC Indoor Track Championships
Clarion Women 7th/Men 10th
(EAST STROUDSBURG, PA.): Clarion University’s women finished seventh and the men finished 10th at the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by East Stroudsburg University which concluded on Sunday at Koehler Fieldhouse.
Lock Haven won the women’s title scoring 110.33 points with Kutztown second (79) and East Stroudsburg third (78). Clarion scored 24 points and finished seventh in the 12 team field.
The Golden Eagles were led by Melissa Terwilliger who finished second in both the 3000 and 5000 Meter races. She ran a 10:28.19 in the 3000 and an 18:06.72 time in the 5000 and lost by only 58-hundredeths of a second to Bloomsburg’s Danielle Kramer (18:06.14).
Clarion’s 4 x 800 meter relay of Evelyn Abiola, Jen Boerner, Susan Despot and Sarah Rodgers were third with a 9:46.24 clocking and Jen Klock was fifth in the Pentathlon with 2,878 points.
Lock Haven also won the men’s title with 110 points, while Shippensburg was second with 103 points and Kutztown third with 97.5. The Eagle men were 10th with four points in the twelve team field.
Gerald Smith notched a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.32 to score Clarion’s only points.
Former C-L star Dan Alderton was just out of placing with a seventh place ending in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.87, while the Alderton, Tim Fabrizi, Colin Hawkins and Smith were seventh in the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:31.51
