CLARION’S FORTNOFF NAMED NFCA 2ND TEAM ALL-REGION |

Clarion University senior Lauren Fortnoff was chosen as a second-team Mid-Atlantic Region outfielder by the National FastPitch Coaches Association. Fortnoff had a sensational senior season for the Golden Eagles leading the team with a .383 average and 17 runs scored. She was 41-for-107 as Clarion’s leadoff hitter in every game this season. She has one double and five RBI’s with an on-base percentage of .411. She also stole five bases. Fortnoff had 14 multiple-hit games this season including three three-hit games. She was 3-for-4 with an RBI March 11 vs. Merrimack, 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored April 1 at Edinboro in Game Two while going 3-for-4 with an RBI in Game Two at Slippery Rock April 9. April 1 was a good day for the senior, as she went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Game One vs. Edinboro that day. Fortnoff finished her career with a .259 average with 26 runs scored, two doubles, a triple, 10 RBI’s and two stolen bases. Clarion went 6-24-1 this season while winning five of its final nine games.
