CLARION TOPPLES SUNY-BROCKPORT 92-84
CLARION – Clarion had six players score in double digits on its way to a 92-84 win over SUNY-Brockport Wednesday night at Clarion’s Tippin Gym.
Mike Sherry (Chartiers Valley) led Clarion with 18 points, while Demetrius Graham added 17 points. Lonnell Jones and Rocky Henderson each had 14 points with Henderson recording a double-double with 11 rebounds. Josh Yanke and David Blanks each added 10 tallies, and Graham had six steals.
Sherrod Harris led all scorers with 29 points for Brockport, while Brandon Williams had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds while also adding five assists.
Clarion led 36-32 at halftime and then built the lead to 18 points, 66-48, with 8:16 left before Brockport made a late charge getting as close as six points, 76-70, with 1:34 left. The teams then combined to score 30 points in the next 1:30 with Clarion tallying 16 of them.
NOTES – The game featured 60 fouls, 36 by Brockport, and 60 turnovers, 35 by Clarion … Clarion has now won five in a row and returns to action Saturday at East Stroudsburg (3 p.m.).
