Text Box: PSAC-WEST WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Text Box: GAME HAS MAJOR PSAC PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS
There might be four games left in the PSAC-West for Clarion and three for Slippery Rock, but tonight’s game has major PSAC Playoff implications riding on it. Currently, Slippery Rock holds the fourth and final PSAC Playoff berth awarded to the PSAC-West by a 1/2 game over the Clarion. A Golden Eagle win would move Clarion ahead of Slippery Rock into that fourth spot while a loss would put the Golden Eagles 1 1/2 games back with just three to play but essentially two back in the loss column with the tie breaker belonging to Slipper Rock.
CLARION HAS REBOUNDED NICELY FROM 5-GAME SKID TO TAKE 2 STRAIGHT
Clarion has rebounded from is first  5-game losing streak in six years to win two in a row with victories over Shippensburg (73-61) and Lock Haven (69-57) last week. The key in both wins was defense and shooting. During the losing streak, the Eagles allowed 73.2 ppg while in the past two they have allowed 59 ppg. Also, during the losing skid, Clarion shot 39.3% from the field while shooting 55.1% combined the last 2 games.
GRIMM 7TH IN SCHOOL HISTORY IN ASSISTS
So. point guard Ashley Grimm has moved into 7th all-time in school history in assists with 247 in her career. She is 11 shy of Allison Stodart (258) for 6th. Her 122 this season is also 7th in a season at Clarion and she needs 9 to tie Shannon Coakley for 4th all-time in a season. She is 5th in the PSAC this season at 5.30 apg.
EAGLES SOLID FROM THE LINE
The Eagles have been solid from the free-throw line all season shooting a PSAC leading 77.2%. Four Clarion players are in the Top 8 in the PSAC from the line led by Melba Melton (3rd: 83.6%). April Gratton (79.1%) is 4th, Katrina Greer (78.1%) is 7th and Jessica Albanese (76.8%) is 8th. Ashley Grimm (73.8%) would be 12th if she had enough shots to count. When Greer went 10-for-10 from the line last Monday against Shippensburg, it was the first time an Eagle was perfect with at least 10 shots since 2/19/00 when Melissa Yearous was 10-for-10.
