GRIMM CLOSING IN ON TOP 10 IN ASSISTS
- Sophomore point guard Ashley Grimm needs five assists to
move into the Top 10 in school history… She currently has 217. Letha Dudeck
(1991-93) and Leda Best (1978-81) currently hold the 10th spot with
222… Shelly Respecki (1991-92) holds the school record with 470. Her 92
assists this season are already the 20th most in a season in school
history… Last season, she had 125 assists, the 5th most ever in a
season in school history… Respecki holds the school record with 235, which she
achieved in both 1991 and 1992… Senior guard Melba Melton had 142 last season,
the third most in school history. This year she has 46 giving her 188 career
assists.
EAGLES HAVE 2ND BEST OFFENSE IN PSAC
- Clarion has the second best offense in the PSAC
averaging 73.0 ppg, but the Golden Eagles are 13th of 14 teams on
defense yielding 69.3 ppg.
CLARION SHOOTS WELL
- The Golden Eagles are the top free-throw shooting team
in the PSAC making 77.1 percent of their charity shots and the top shooting
team in the PSAC making 45.2 percent of their shots from the floor.
- Clarion has three players in the Top 10 in the PSAC in
free-throw shooting. Melba Melton leads the conference at 88.1% (59-67),
sophomore forward Jessica Albanese is 7th at 78.0% (32 of 41) and
freshman guard Katrina Greer is 8th at 76.8% (53 of 69).
- Shooting wise, Albanese leads the conference in shooting
percentage at 58.9% (89 of 151) while sophomore forward April Gratton
is 10th at 48.6 percent (71 of 146).
TWO EAGLES IN TOP 6 IN PSAC SCORING
- Clarion has two of the Top 6 scorers in the PSAC. Melba
Melton is No. 4 averaging 15.9 ppg, while sophomore forward Jessica Albanese
is No. 6 at 15.1 ppg.

- Additional Golden Eagles among PSAC leaders in different
categories include April Gratton (7th in rebounding – 7.9 rpg),
Jessica Albanese (T-9th in rebounding – 7.3 rpg), Ashley Grimm (2nd
in assists – 6.57 apg; 5th in steals – 2.29 spg), Katrina Greer (9th
in steals – 2.07 spg).
