FRANKLIN STEPPING UP AT POINT GUARD
Junior point guard Bobby Franklin has stepped his game up in his first year as the full-time starter at the point. He is averaging 11.8 ppg, 4.53 apg (3rd best in the PSAC) and 2.33 spg (T-3rd best in PSAC). Last week he averaged 15.3 ppg and 4.3 apg in helping the Eagles go 2-1. He scored at least 15 points in each of the three games, the first time he has scored 15 or more in three straight contests in his career.
HENDERSON BECOMING DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
Junior forward Ricky Henderson continues to shine since joining the Eagle lineup just before Christmas. In 8 games, he has helped Clarion go 6-2 while averaging a double-double with 15.3 ppg and 11.5 rpg. He has recorded six double-doubles in his eight games including two last week. He would also be in the Top 20 in three key PSAC categories if he had enough games to qualify. He would be 1st in rebounding, 1st in blocks (3.0 bpg) and 15th in scoring. He already has 24 blocks on the season which is more than half of Clarion’s total blocks (45) for the year.
VAUGHNS IN TOP 20 IN SCHOOL HISTORY IN SCORING
Senior guard Terrance Vaughns has moved into the Top 20 in school history in scoring. His 1,158 career points are 19th in school history and he needs 42 points to become the 15th player in school history to score 1,200 career points. He also is closing in on the Top 15 in school history in career assists. He currently has 221 assists and needs 27 more to tie Alvin Gibson and Eric Pinno (248) for 14th.
