CLARION’S VAUGHNS, HENDERSON NAMED ALL-CONFERENCE |

Clarion University senior Terrance Vaughns (Uniontown/Uniontown) and junior Ricky Henderson (Detroit/Renaissance) are second-team PSAC-West men’s basketball selections for the 2006 season. It is the second straight season Vaughns has been second-team All-Conference, while Henderson earns the award in his first year at Clarion. Vaughns concluded a solid Clarion career by averaging a career-high 13.2 ppg this season while adding 3.8 rpg, 2.96 apg and 1.62 spg. He also shot a PSAC leading 88.0 percent from the free-throw line, the second best mark in school history and eighth best mark in PSAC history. Vaughns had a career-high 30 points vs. California while twice recording seven assists. In his career, Vaughns set the Clarion school record for free-throw percentage in a career at 86.6 percent (305-352), the fourth best mark in PSAC history. He also finished 12th in school history in scoring (1,320 points) and tied for 11th in school history in assists (261). Henderson had a solid first year for the Golden Eagles after joining Clarion just before Christmas. He led the team in scoring (16.1 ppg), rebounding (9.4 rpg) and blocked shots (42). Ricky ranked 11th in the PSAC in scoring, second in rebounding and second in blocks per game (2.21). Henderson had eight double-doubles during the year with a game-high 24 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES – An injury-riddled Clarion team – the Eagles lost 102-man games to injury this season – finished 13-13 overall and 5-7 in the PSAC-West and found itself in the playoff hunt down to the last week of the season despite the injuries… Clarion is coached by Ron Righter, the winningest coach in school history with an 18-year record of 299-185 including three PSAC-West titles (1997, 2000, 2005), one PSAC Title (2001) and one NCAA appearance (2001). In 20 years as a head coach, Righter is 323-209.
