HENDERSON NAMED PSAC-WEST PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

    Clarion University junior forward Ricky Henderson (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) was named the PSAC-West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

            Henderson helped Clarion to a 2-1 record last week by averaging 17.3 points 13.7 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. In an 80-70 win at Kutztown Saturday, he registered 17 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and three assists. Then in a 77-69 loss at West Chester Sunday, he posted 21 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks.

            On the season, Henderson, who joined the Golden Eagle line-up five games ago and has helped Clarion to a 4-1 record in that span, is averaging 16.4 ppg and 11.8 rpg while coming away with 16 blocked shots. Overall, Clarion is 6-6 on the season and returns to action at 8 p.m. Wednesday when it hosts Shippensburg in the PSAC-West opener.

GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES – Henderson is the first Players of the Week in basketball for Clarion this season ... The Golden Eagles are the defending PSAC-West champions having gone 8-4 in PSAC-West play last season.
