LEE CHURCH 6-0, 195 pound, Guard (Brooklyn, NY/Boys & Girls HS) Lee, who came to Clarion last year from Stony Brook, has been one of Clarions two points guards the past two seasons and has been a very solid contributor for the Golden Eagles scoring 225 points, dishing out 138 assists, grabbing 115 rebounds and coming away with 74 steals and five blocks
This season, Lee is averaging 18 minutes a game and scoring 4.7 points per game, while dishing out 2.85 assists per game, hauling in 2.6 rebounds per game and swiping 1.95 steals per game
He has scored a season-high 10 points twice (Dec. 2 at Cleveland State & Jan. 19 vs. Lock Haven) while dishing out five or more assists five times including a season-high six three times (Jan. 8 vs. Kutztown, Jan. 29 vs. California and Jan. 12 vs. Pitt-Johnstown) and coming away with five steals three times (Jan. 19 vs. Lock Haven, Jan. 26 at Slippery Rock and Feb. 5 vs. IUP)
He has played very well in PSAC-West action averaging 5.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3 apg and 3.13 spg
Last season, Lee averaged 4.6 ppg and 2.89 apg while setting a career high for points (12 vs. Kutztown), rebounds (7 vs. Slippery Rock) and assists (7 vs. IUP)
A Communication major, Lee is the son of James Church and Patricia Policano. RYAN WELLS 6-2, 205 pounds, Forward (Library/South Park HS) Ryan, a two-year player for the Golden Eagles, has had a tremendous career
Despite going up against players four or five inches taller and 20-30 pounds heavier each night, he has 697 career points, 428 career rebounds, 86 career assists and 100 career steals
This season. Ryan is averaging 17.2 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.82 spg and 1.77 apg and ranks fifth in the PSAC in both scoring and rebounding and eighth in steals
He scored a career-high 35 points at Mansfield Jan. 15 while grabbing a career-high 19 rebounds vs. Kutztown Jan. 8, which tied for the most rebounds in a game at Clarion since the 1983 season
He has also recorded six assists twice while coming away with five steals once
Last season Wells was a 1st team PSAC-West selection after averaging 11.4 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.14 spg and 1.68 apg
He was fourth in the PSAC in rebounding
A Liberal Studies major, Ryan comes from a Clarion Family
His mom Diane, is a Clarion graduate, who was honored with a Clarion Alumni Association Distinguished Volunteer Award in 2003. His dad, Reggie Sr., is a Clarion Hall of Fame Basketball Player (1976-79) who finished his career the all-time leading scorer in Clarion history with 2,011 points (he is now 2nd) and the second leading rebounder (1,120)
His older brother, Reggie Jr., was an All-America lineman for the Golden Eagles football team before being chosen in the sixth round of the 2003 draft by the Arizona Cardinals and was a starter this past season on the offensive line for Arizona. |
