VAUGHNS PSAC-WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK Junior Terrance Vaughns was named PSAC-West Co-Player of the Week for his performance in Clarion’s 2-0 week … He averaged 19 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 3.0 apg while shooting 57.9 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from 3-point range … He scored 25 points, grabbed five rebounds and came away with five steals in Clarion’s 72-49 win at California Saturday. CLARION IN POSTSEASON FOR 9TH STRAIGHT YEAR Clarion has qualified for the PSAC Playoffs for the ninth consecutive year, which is the longest active streak in the PSAC-West and ties for the fourth longest streak in PSAC history … The Golden Eagles won the 2001 PSAC Championship. EAGLES POST 18 WINS FOR 7TH TIME IN 9 YEARS The Golden Eagles 18 wins this season mark the seventh time in the past nine years Clarion has won at least 18 games. BUCHANAN RISING TO THE OCCASION Sophomore Chris Buchanan from Altoona has seen his minutes increase dramatically the last three games, and he has risen to the occasion averaging 14.8 ppg and 8 rpg during that stretch including a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds last Wednesday vs. Slippery Rock, his first career double-double. |

RECENT CLARION-EDINBORO SERIES HISTORY Clarion is looking for its first regular-season sweep of Edinboro since the 1985 season … The teams have spilt the regular-season series in 7 of the last 8 years … Clarion has had pretty good success in big games on the McComb Fieldhouse floor winning the last three playoff games it has played in Edinboro including beating the Fighting Scots in the 2003 first round and knocking off Bloomsburg and West Chester en route to the 2001 PSAC Title … … The home teams have held court in 17 of the 19 meetings since ‘97 with Clarion 8-1 at Tippin Gym and Edinboro 9-1 at McComb Fieldhouse … Clarion’s lone win on the road since 1991 was in the 2003 PSAC Playoffs … The last regular-season road win was Feb. 20, 1991, 100-72. |
