GOLDEN EAGLES VAUGHNS PSAC-WEST CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

            Clarion University junior guard Terrance Vaughns (Uniontown/Uniontown) is the PSAC-West men’s basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending with game Feb. 19.

            Vaughns led Clarion (18-7 overall, 7-3 PSAC-West) to a 2-0 record during the week which vaulted the Golden Eagles into a first-place tie with Edinboro while also clinching Clarion’s ninth straight PSAC Playoff berth.

            He averaged 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while hitting 57.9 percent (11-19) of his shots and 53.8 percent (7-13) of his three-pointers.

            Vaughns’ top performance came in Clarion’s 72-49 win at California Saturday when he scored 25 points, grabbed five rebounds and came up wit five steals.

            On the year, Vaughns is averaging 12.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.68 apg and 1.76 spg.

            Vaughns currently has 955 career points in three seasons at Clarion.

            The Golden Eagles return to action at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Edinboro. Clarion can clinch the PSAC-West title and the No. 1 seed from the PSAC-West in the PSAC Playoffs with a win. 

            Clarion closes out the regular season at IUP Saturday. Game time in Indiana is 7:30 p.m.

            NOTES – Vaughns is the second Golden Eagle to earn PSAC-West Player of the Week this season … Senior Ryan Wells has earned the award twice … The 25 points vs. California tie Vaughns second-highest point total in his Clarion career. He had a career-high 26 points vs. Bloomsburg this season … Vaughns shared the award this week with Shippensburg’s Chuck Davis.
