RECENT CLARION-EDINBORO SERIES HISTORY: Clarion broke a 13-game losing streak against the Fighting Scots at McComb Fieldhouse with a 76-63 win March 4, 2003, in the first-round of the PSAC Playoffs The Golden Eagles seem to like the McComb Fieldhouse floor in the playoffs having won three straight on it including two neutral court wins in the 2001 PSAC Playoffs to win their first PSAC Title Clarion, however, is still looking for its first regular-season win at McComb since a 100-72 victory Feb. 20, 1991 The win in the PSAC Playoffs last season at Edinboro was Clarion third win at Edinboro since 1985 Clarion and Edinboro have combined to win three of the past seven PSAC-West titles with Clarion winning in 1997 & 2000 and Edinboro in 2001 The two teams have had an almost identical record in the past eight season including this one Clarion is 148-65 overall and 59-30 in the PSAC-West while Edinboro is 134-84 overall and 58-31 in the PSAC-West

CLARION NOTES: Clarion saw its four-game win streak come to an end Monday night when the University of the District of Columbia rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final 2 ½ minutes to force overtime before coming out with the 98-92 win Jumaane Sorrells hit the game-tying three for UDC as the horn sounded Terrance Vaughns led Clarion with a career-high 25 points to go with four rebounds, seven assists and two steals Michael Clarke added 14 points and 14 rebounds Vaughns has been on fire of late for the Golden Eagles averaging 17.1 ppg, 2.7 apg, and 3.7 rpg in the Golden Eagles last nine contests Ryan Wells was the PSAC-West Player of the Week last week for the second time this season Wells averaged 17.5 ppg, 12.0 rpg and 3.0 apg while shooting 56 percent from the field during the week He scored a career-high 25 points to go with 13 rebounds in a win over Lock Haven Wednesday and followed that up with a 10 points, 11 rebound game in a win over Shippensburg Saturday.
EDINBORO NOTES: The Fighting Scots have recovered nicely from a 4-9 start that included a 5-game losing streak Since that losing steak, Edinboro has won 6 of its past 7 games with the only loss being a 78-74 set back at IUP Jan. 21 The Scots are coming off a 75-69 win at home over Cal Sunday Edinboro led 37-17 at halftime and by 24 points with 5:18 to play only to watch Cal go on a 30-9 run to cut the game to three points with 25 seconds left Rob Simms led Edinboro with 16 points, while Jakim Donaldson had 13 points and seven rebounds.
