RECENT CLARION-LOCK HAVEN SERIES HISTORY: Clarion and Lock Haven have split their season series the last three years with the last three meeting being decided by a total of seven points Lock Haven has won two of the last three including 70-68 at Clarion last year when Kristopher Holtzer hit the game-winning shot with 1.2 seconds left Clarion had trailed by 9 at halftime & 12 in the second half only to rally to take the lead with a minute left before the Bald Eagles clawed back to win Clarion hurt itself in the game by going just 9 of 20 from the free-throw line and lost despite turning the ball over just six times The game at Lock Haven was just as exciting with the Bald Eagles leading 31-21 at halftime after Clarion shot just 5 of 31 in the first half Lock Haven then got the lead up to 15 points early in the second half before Clarion rallied to win Rollie Smith hit the game-winning jumper with 11 seconds left, and Terrance Vaughns secured the win by coming up with a steal and hitting two free throws with five seconds remaining

CLARION NOTES: Clarion is coming off its best offensive performance of the season in a 100-83 win at IUP The Golden Eagles shot a school record 70% (14-20) from 3-point range led by Justin Collins school-record tying 8-for-8 performance from behind the arc Terrance Vaughns was also on fire from long-distance going 6-for-9 from three-point range Vaughns and Collins each scored 24 points in the win, while Michael Clarke scored a career-high 29 Clarion became the first team to score 100 points on IUP in 13 years It was the first time Clarion scored 100 points in a PSAC-West game since a 100-94 double OT victory over Edinboro in 2000 It was the first time the Golden Eagles reached double digits in regulation in a PSAC game since a 107-90 win over Slippery Rock in 1995 Collins was named PSAC-West Player of the Week after averaging 19.7 ppg while hitting 76% (16 of 21) of his three-pointers for the week Clarion ranked 1st in the PSAC and 15th in the nation in points allowed (62.2 ppg).
LOCK HAVEN NOTES: The Bald Eagles started the year 0-10 before beating Fairmont St. 59-54 Jan. 7 They then rallied from a 15-point 2nd half deficit to beat Shippensburg 60-57 last Wednesday James Chappell was the PSAC-West Rookie of the Week last week after scoring 16 points against Ship and 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals in a 69-57 loss to California Saturday.
