Clarion did get two neutral court wins in the PSAC Playoffs at McComb Fieldhouse in 2001 beating Bloomsburg and West Chester to win the PSAC Title. While Clarion has struggled on the road against the Fighting Scots they have won six of the past seven meeting at home against Edinboro. Clarion and Edinboro have combined to win three of the past six PSAC-West titles with Clarion winning in 1997 and 2000 and Edinboro winning in 2001. The two teams have also had almost identical records in the past seven seasons including this one. Clarion is 133-57 overall and 55-27 in the PSAC-West since 1997, while Edinboro is 123-72 overall and 53-29 in the PSAC-West.
GAME NOTES: Clarion can clinch at least second place in the PSAC-West with a win over Edinboro Wednesday. There are two scenarios that see the Golden Eagles winning the PSAC-West. The first includes Clarion wins over Edinboro and Shippensburg and a California loss to either Slippery Rock or Edinboro The second includes a Clarion win over Edinboro along with California losses to both Slippery Rock and Edinboro. If Clarion beats Edinboro Wednesday the Golden Eagles would own the first tie-breaker (head-to-head competition) over both Edinboro and California which would break any two or three-way ties between the teams. Edinboro will most likely be without leading scorer Rob Simms Wednesday. Simms has missed two straight games with a broken arm and is most likely done for the season.
