VAUGHNS NAMED PSAC-WEST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR 3rd TIME IN 2003
Clarion University freshman Terrance Vaughns (Uniontown/Uniontown) has been named the PSAC-West Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
Vaughns helped Clarion clinch its seventh straight PSAC Playoff berth with wins over California (63-61) and IUP (63-58) this past week. He had an all-around effort with 7.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.0 apg and 3.5 spg.
On the season, Vaughns has helped the Golden Eagles to an 18-5 overall record and a 7-1 PSAC-West mark that has Clarion in first place in the PSAC-West. He is averaging 10.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.4 apg and 1.7 spg. He is the top three-point shooter in the PSAC-West (48.4 percent – 46 of 95) and the top free-throw shooter in the PSAC (90.6 percent (58-64).
GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES: Clarion’s streak of seven straight PSAC Playoff berths is the second longest streak in the PSAC-West behind IUP (10 straight heading into this season) and ties for the third longest streak in the PSAC behind IUP and Bloomsburg (8 straight heading into this season). West Chester recently clinched its seventh straight appearance as well.
