GOLDEN EAGLES GREEN NAME PSAC-WEST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Clarion University freshman Shamar Green (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) is the final PSAC-West Rookie of the Week for 2002-03 season.

Green, who won the award three times this season, averaged 11.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg in Clarion’s two games this past week. He collected 14 points and five rebounds in a 98-96 loss at Shippensburg Saturday.

On the season, Green (9.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg) has helped Clarion to an 18-9 overall record and a 7-5 PSAC-West mark and the Golden Eagles seventh straight PSAC Playoff appearance, the longest active streak for teams in the PSAC-West. Clarion opens up the PSAC Playoffs at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Edinboro.
