GOLDEN EAGLE'S VAUGHNS NAMED PSAC-WEST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Clarion University freshman guard Terrance Vaughns is the PSAC-West Rookie of the Week after averaging 13.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg and 2.7 spg over the course of three games last week.

Vaughns, who hit on 6 of 11 (54.5 percent) of his three-pointers during the stretch, scored 16 points and had nine boards in a loss to Shippensburg Saturday while adding 12 points, seven rebounds and six steals in a win over Lock Haven Wednesday.

On the season Vaughns is averaging 11.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.3 apg and 1.4 spg while helping Clarion to a 15-5 overall record and a 4-1 PSAC-West mark. It is the Golden Eagles seventh straight season with at least 15 wins, and Clarion is in a first-place tie in the PSAC-West with Edinboro and California.

NOTES – Clarion returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Edinboro at 8 p.m. … Vaughns has been named the PSAC-West Rookie of the Week twice this season.
