SCOTT 2^nd/CLARION 4^TH AT PSAC’s

            (Hummelstown, Pa.): Clarion senior Justin Scott (Monroeville/Gateway) finished second overall, but the Golden Eagles placed fourth in the 2006 PSAC Golf Championship completed on Sunday.

            Held at the par 72 Wren Dale Golf Club, West Chester won the 36-hole team title with a 603 (303-300) team total. Indiana was right behind in second place with 605 (307 – 298), with Millersville third at 611 (305 – 306) and Clarion fourth (316 – 296) at 612. Rounding out the eight team tournament was fifth place California at 619 (317 – 302), the Cal women were sixth with a 632 (330 – 302), the Kutztown women placed seventh at 669 (331 – 338) and the West Chester women were eighth at 755 (394 – 361).

            West Chester’s Jared Miller was the individual medalist shooting a one over par 145, while Clarion’s Justin Scott was second with a three-over par 147. He had rounds of 74 and 73.

            Other Clarion golfers and their finishes included Justin Moose (Jr. N. Huntingdon/Norwin) who was 12^th with a 154 (80 – 74), Preston Mullens (Jr. Emporium/Cameron County) 16^th at 155 (79 – 76), Justin Cameron (So. Punxsutawney) 19^th at 156 (83 – 73) and Tom Will (Sr. Erie/McDowell) 23^rd shooting a 159 (83 – 76).

            The Golden Eagles are now finished for the Fall season, but work on preparing for the Spring 2007 campaign. The Eagles will be looking for their 6^th straight NCAA D-II Regional appearance. Clarion was second at the East Regional last year.
