CLARK, EAGLES MAKE HISTORY AT PSAC MEET

Chris Clark and the Clarion University men’s cross country team made history at Saturday’s PSAC Meet.

Clark’s third-place finish is the highest finish ever by a Clarion men’s runner at PSAC’s, while the Golden Eagles’ third-place ending is the best in school history.

In the process, Clarion also had three All-PSAC runners for the first time in school history with Clark, Bill Herrmann (14th) and Sean McFarland (15th) earning the conference award that goes to the Top 20 runners.

“I believe it is a privilege to coach a very dedicated and hard-working group of student athletes who not only excel in cross country but also excel in the classroom,” Clarion’s interim head coach Jayson Resch said. “Chris is a very dedicated young man who has worked tremendously hard to be one of the top runners in the conference. He is an amazing individual who deserves to achieve all of his goals. I am also extremely impressed with Bull Herrmann and Sean McFarland. They continue to improve and set new standards of excellence every time they race. The PSAC meet was one step in the preparation for the Regional Championships in which the team hopes to improve on their performance and continue to set new standards for the team.”
