high school volleyball programs in the area by providing quality
instruction utilizing the best coaching staff available. Several college
players from the Golden Eagle program are on hand to guarantee each
volleyball enthusiast a positive and productive learning experience. The
primary focus is on personal skill development. All the latest
techniques are covered using the most sophisticated training methods.
There are three rigorous sessions per day.

Resident:
$225 (non-refundable deposit of $150 due by July 29; balance due on
arrival). Fee includes instruction, meals, lodging, T-shirt, and awards.
Commuter:
$200 (non-refundable deposit of $150 due by July 29; balance due on
arrival). Includes instruction, meals, T-shirt, and awards.
Group Rates:
Groups of seven or more resident campers who apply together may register
for $205 each, with individual $150 deposit due with applications by
July 29. Discount does not apply to commuters.
Registration:
1 p.m.-2 p.m., Sunday, July 31, in the lobby of Tippin Gymnasium. More
information will be provided after deposit is received. Camp ends at 4
p.m. August 2.

Registration
- 9 a.m.-10 a.m., Friday, August 5
- First session begins at 10:30 a.m. Team camp ends
at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Camp Features
- Skills/Team campers receive a camp T-shirt.
- Special events such as a camp tournament, skill
contests, and camp games are scheduled.
- Awards are given to players on the first and
second teams winning the tournament. Court awards are given to
individuals.
- Special sessions are held to view motivational
and instructional volleyball films.
- An NCAA college talk is included.
- Team coaching sessions are provided for team
camp.
- Activities include swimming, movie nights, and
bowling.
Eligibility
Participants should be between the ages of 12 and 18. (Note: High school
seniors are eligible to attend.)
Accommodations
Two resident campers will be housed per room.
If you have a roommate preference, be sure to indicate
it on your enrollment application. If you do not request a specific
roommate in advance, we will assign a roommate according to age group.
Campers are under constant supervision, with coaches and counselors in
residence on each floor of the residence hall.
Facilities
Tippin Gymnasium houses more than $100,000 of equipment in two large
weight rooms. Three racquetball courts, outdoor volleyball courts, and a
25-meter pool with diving well are available for recreational use. The
nearby Gemmell Student Complex is a $6 million facility that includes
three racquetball courts, an aerobic exercise center, a fitness center,
the university bookstore, a convenience store, a snack bar, and much
more.
Athletes play on any of three regulation NCAA courts
inside an air-conditioned, state-of-the-art recreation center. The new
facility also includes a cardio-fitness center, weight room, climbing
wall, and indoor running track.
Camp Director
A highly motivated, knowledgeable, and experienced coach, Tracey
Fluharty begins her fifth season as head coach of the Golden Eagle
Women’s Volleyball program and her ninth year as a collegiate head
coach.
Fluharty comes to Clarion after four solid years at
NCAA Division II Glenville State (W.Va.) where she compiled an
impressive record of 99-56 that included three 25-plus win seasons.
In 2002, the Golden Eagles volleyball team finished
31-5 and went to the NCAA Regional Playoffs for the first time in
Clarion’s history. In 2003, Clarion had another strong year as the
Eagles finished 26-10, returning to the NCAA Regional Playoffs.
Other highlights for Fluharty’s teams included marks
of 26-13 in 1998, 26-16 in 1999, and 28-12 in 2000. All three of those
teams included national and conference leaders in both individual and
team statistical categories.
A native of Clarksburg, W.Va., Fluharty attended
Glenville State and, in 1995, earned a bachelor’s degree in physical
education with a minor in safety education.
Fluharty went on to earn her master’s degree in
physical education from West Virginia University in 1997 and was hired
as an instructor and women’s volleyball coach at Glenville the same
year.
