Players are grouped according to ability. Emphasis is placed on basic strokes plus singles and doubles strategy. Participants develop mental toughness, improve their techniques, and polish existing tennis skills. Benefits
Clinic Rules Campers are expected to attend all sessions as scheduled and to follow the university’s rules of decorum. Smoking, tobacco, the possession of illegal drugs, and the use of alcoholic beverages are forbidden. Campers violating the rules will be dismissed immediately with no refund of camp fees. Medical Facilities Keeling Health Center is located on campus. Although the university maintains a complete physical therapy room for the care of minor injuries, illness or injury requiring medical treatment, hospitalization, and/or surgery are referred to Clarion Hospital. Location Clarion University is located high above the Allegheny Plateau in scenic northwestern Pennsylvania. The campus is located off Interstate-80, Exit 64, between the hubs of Pittsburgh and Erie with easy access from most Pennsylvania, southwestern New York, and eastern Ohio cities.
Lori Sabatose has more than 16 years of experience as a player, coach, and instructor of tennis. As an undergraduate at Clarion, she placed as high as number one in singles and number two in doubles competition. Sabatose won the state title in singles, doubles, and team events and attended several NCAA regional tournaments. She participated in national Division II competition in St. Louis, Mo., and led the Golden Eagles to three PSAC team titles. With a career record of 51-7 in singles and 53-11 in doubles, Sabatose’s highest doubles ranking in Division II was fourth in the East. Coach Sabatose is a certified teaching professional by the PTR, Professional Tennis Registry. She is a U.S.A. team tennis coordinator. Sabatose continues to be a competitive player by participating in the Middle States tournaments. Before returning to Clarion as head coach, Sabatose coached several Pennsylvania high school teams and was teaching professional at Amherst Hills Tennis Club in Buffalo, N.Y., and at Treasure Lake Country Club in DuBois, Pa. She received a Master of Arts degree in sports administration and taught undergraduate tennis at Kent State and Penn State universities. With contagious enthusiasm, Coach Sabatose instills a positive work ethic while providing constructive feedback to camp participants.
