Expert explores link between employee management and performance

FarndaleThrough its Reed Lecture Series and Faculty Research Seminar Series, Clarion University College of Business Administration and Information Sciences will host guest speaker Dr. Elaine Farndale at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in 102 Still Hall, Clarion campus.

Farndale, director of the Center for International HR Studies at Penn State University, will present "Strategy, Human Resources Management, and Performance: A Contextual Approach." The talk will focus on why linking activities inside organizations to the overall strategic direction of the firm is an essential component of achieving high performance. Farndale says that given the importance of people as critical organizational resources, we might expect clear indications of how employees should be managed inside the organization in order to reach strategic goals.

The presentation is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available following the presentation.
