Clarion University will offer summer sessions with a special housing deal for students – including those from other universities – who want to get ahead, catch up or make up classes.
Summer Sessions will run May 6-23, June 3 to July 5, and July 8 to Aug. 8. Additional seven-week sessions will run May 6 to June 21 and June 24 to Aug. 9. During those sessions, students can live at Reinhard Villages for $35/week.
"Students can use the courses to get ahead or lighten their load during the school year, or students can repeat courses they may have struggled with during the academic year," said Dr. Pam Gent, provost. "We know that summer school is an additional cost, so we wanted to do what we could to help students."
Many of the summer courses are science classes with labs that are sequenced to enable students to take several courses during the summer. For example, Organic Chemistry I with lab is offered during Summer 2, and Organic Chemistry II with lab is offered during Summer 3.
Those taking online summer classes may apply for the housing, but students taking classes in person have priority.
Reinhard's apartment-style housing features individual bedrooms for up to four people, individual or shared bathrooms, living room and full-size kitchen with refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave. Cable, Wi-Fi and AC/heat are included; residents may use the outdoor pool, volleyball court and indoor fitness center.
Clarion campus is near Clarion River, North Country Trail system and Cook Forest, which makes it easy to have a fun summer while earning credits.
