Clarion University’s Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts programs have received a 10-year renewal of accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Both programs are within the department of visual and performing arts.
The renewal was based on an intensive one-year self study, submission of an accreditation application based on NASAD accreditation guidelines and standards, and a campus visit from representatives of NASAD. The accreditation is in effect until 2027-28.
Founded in 1944, NASAD is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges, and universities with approximately 363 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for art and design and art/design-related disciplines, and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational, and other art/design-related endeavors.
