Clarion University’s School of Education Early Childhood students worked with the fourth grade Clarion Area art classes to produce a mural, which will debut from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 3 at Clarion Area Elementary School.
The mural will then move to Stevens Hall on Clarion University's campus.
The theme was "bringing the community and University together." The mural includes 3D representations of buildings in town and on campus as well as Dr. Dale-Elizabeth Pehrsson's car.
A Community Fellowship Grant shared with Clarion Elementary School funded the project.
CU students will be at the art show working at stations and interacting with children and their families.
Clarion Area Elementary art teacher Taylor Banner is spearheading tonight's event and the project. Clarion University instructor Amy Shannonhouse is the instructor of the course involved in the project. Tim Stevenson is the coordinator of the grant activities.
