Poet Sheila Carter-Jones presents work

The Martin Luther King Jr. Committee and English department will present poet Sheila Carter-Jones, author of "Three Birds Deep," which won the 2012 Naomi Long Madgett Poetry Book Award, and chapbook "Blackberry Cobbler Song." Her chapbook "Crooked Star Dream Book" was awarded Honorable Mention for the 2013 New York Center for Book Arts Chapbook Contest. Free and open to all.
SAFE hosts volunteer training

Stop Abuse for Everyone will host its biannual Volunteer Training Program Feb. 19 through April 18. Training will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students fill out a main application and are shown scholarships for which they may be eligible. Most applications are due by March 29.
