Clarion University — Venango celebrates academic excellence

Clarion University — Venango celebrated a night of academic excellence on Monday, April 23.

A variety of presentations, videos and poster displays were presented including:

  • "Use of Financial Modeling for Creating Unified Vision"
  • "Diabetic Ketoacidosis"
  • "Cushing's Syndrome"
  • "Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome"
  • "Obstetric Care in Russia"

"Student research and projects, and out-of-the classroom experiences add to overall learning. The theme this year focused on excellence on- and off-campus, excellence in partnerships and in the community, and excellence at neighboring institutions," said Ms. Debbie Sobina, campus director.

Debra Altman of UPMC Northwest, a partner location for the Medical Imaging Sciences program, along with student, Carl Douglas, presented "Excellence in Medical Imaging – Clinical Experience."

Venango Catholic High School representatives shared their success in "Excellence in Active Critical Thinking – Return on Investment in Education for Home Healthcare Careers."

Venango campus faculty member and student, Robin Bilan, was recognized for Excellence in Lifelong Learning for completing every step on the nursing credential ladder through Clarion University including her associate of science in nursing, bachelor of science in nursing, and master of science in nursing. She will receive her doctor of nursing practice degree at Clarion University's ceremony on May 12.
