Will a robot take your job? Clarion presents automation discussion

Clarion University’s 2017-18 Mary L. Seifert Cultural Series, “Work and the American Dream,” will present a panel discussion, “Automation and the Future of Work in America,” at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 in Suites on Main North theater.

A panel of Clarion scholars will discuss the mechanics behind automation, as well as its impact on the U.S. economy. Featured panelists are:
• Dr. Vasudeva Aravind, department of chemistry, mathematics and physics;
• Dr. Tony Johns, department of management and marketing;
• Dr. Chunfei Li, department of chemistry, mathematics and physics.

Dr. Erik Loomis, professor of history at University of Rhode Island, will also participate.

Dr. Kathleen McIntyre, Clarion professor of history and women and gender studies, will moderate.

The discussion is free and open to the public.
