Clarion University students are helping to fill empty bellies this Thanksgiving. Through the Eagle Ambassadors’ annual Donate-a-Meal campaign, 77 turkeys were donated to Clarion County Community Action, an increase of 16 over last year.

Students were invited to donate their Nov. 17 board meal to the campaign. This year, 592 students donated those meals, the cash value of which was $1,272. Additional monetary donations of $20 from students and $200 from Clarion University Alumni Association Board of Directors and an anonymous donor were collected.

The donations were used to purchase 77 turkeys, which were donated today and will be given to families in need. Chartwells, the university's dining service, co-sponsors the drive.
