Venango Cultural Series opens with laughs, the search for peace

Clarion University – Venango will kick off its 2017-18 Cultural Arts Series this month with performances by Daniel Martin and John Noltner. Both performances begin at 7 p.m. in the Robert W. Rhoades Center, Venango Campus, Oil City, and are free and open to the public.

Daniel Martin has become one of the most in-demand entertainers in the nation. His high-energy blend of incredible magic, sarcastic improv and cons consistently leads to standing ovations and record-breaking crowds. His magic and standup have been featured on CBS, NBC, WGN, VH1 and ESPN. He began performing professionally at 12 years old, developing his innovative fusion of deception and comedy. He will perform Aug. 28.

John NoltnerJohn Noltner will present "A Peace of My Mind: Exploring the Meaning of Peace, One Story at a Time." The award-winning photographer and author has driven 40,000 miles across the United States asking people, "What does peace mean to you?" With portraits and personal stories, ordinary people reveal extraordinary insights into how we can work toward the common good and create a future that works for all of us. He will visit Aug. 29.
