Clarion hosts 20th annual Reading for the Cure

October 4, 2016

Clarion University’s Reading for the Cure Club will hold its 20th annual Reading for the Cure event Oct. 14, in conjunction with the Clarion University English Club and Sigma Tau Delta.

Reading for the Cure raises funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Pittsburgh through raffles, donations and shirt sales. Past Reading for the Cure events have garnered over $100,000, supporting Pittsburgh's annual Race for the Cure. Last year, over $2,000 was raised through Clarion University.

A limited supply of originally designed Reading for the Cure shirts will be available at the 2016 event for $10. Raffle tickets for assorted baskets and prizes will be sold throughout the night. The evening will feature music and readings by community members and survivors. Refreshments will be served.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in Moore Hall. It is family friendly and open to the public. Contact president Kaitlynn Sass at k.m.sass@eagle.clarion.edu with questions or to register a performance.
