Clarion University’s Physics Department welcomes students and the community to get into the holiday spirit at the Donald D. Peirce Planetarium. At the beginning of December, the planetarium will host “Stars Over Clarion” and “Season of Light.”
"Stars over Clarion" is a monthly show that previews the night sky for that month and highlights any important celestial events that will take place. Star lore from various cultures around the world is also mentioned. December's show takes place at 7 and 8 p.m. Dec. 1 and is free and open to the public.
"Season of Light" takes audiences through the history and development of winter holiday customs throughout the world. The show also recounts religious and cultural winter solstice practices, holiday hits and lighthearted rituals including gift giving and mistletoe kissing. Shows start at 7 and 8 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9. Admission is free and open to the public.
