March 3, 2016

quiet inquisitionAs a part of this year’s Seifert Film Series, “Inside Politics,” Clarion will be showing “A Quiet Inquisition” at 7 p.m. March 16 in the Suites on Main Theater.

"A Quiet Inquisition" was co-directed by Alessandra Zeka and Holen Sabrina Kahn, who has worked for 18 years producing human rights-based films. It takes place in a public hospital in Nicaragua. A doctor must deal with the results of a newly passed law that bans abortion under all circumstances, including in cases of saving the mother's life, rape and incest. Khan, whose work has been exhibited internationally, will be available after the movie to partake in a panel discussion on the film.

This event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Mary Seifert Cultural Series, Women and Gender Studies, the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women and the Clarion Young Democrats.
