Businesses invite community to week-long grand opening

Clarion University welcomes the community to celebrate the week-long grand opening of The Den by Denny's, Starbucks and the CU Store, all located inside Suites on Main South, Clarion.

Parking is free. Designated spaces for community patrons are available in the lot behind The Den, Starbucks and CU Store.

The Den will kick off the week Super Bowl Sunday by televising the game and offering half-price appetizers. Daily specials will offered:

  • Feb. 8: Free Slam with purchase of Original Grand Slam
  • Feb. 9: Free fries with any burger purchase
  • Feb. 10: Fish sandwich and fries combo special
  • Feb. 11: Free fountain drink with any Audacious Taco purchase
  • Feb. 12: Party on the Plate – BYO (Build Your Own) Pancakes for $2.99
  • Feb. 13: Valentine's special – free cookie with any Double Den Burger

Starbucks' will feature:

  • Feb. 8: Purchase any baked goods, get any coffee half off
  • Feb. 9: Free shots in any drink
  • Feb. 10: Over the Hump – free upgrades with any purchase
  • Feb. 11: Frappy Hour (3-5 p.m.) – half off all Frapps
  • Feb. 12: Free coffee – purchase any sandwich, receive 8-ounce free coffee
  • Feb. 13: Free Sample Saturday – Daily customized drink samples of the day

The CU Store hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Feb. 8, with remarks by President Whitney.

Throughout the week, CU Store invites customers to register to win a Keurig coffee maker, Bullet smoothie maker or Samsung tablet. Clarion Student's Association will pass out coupons for a free small popcorn with the purchase of a drink in at movies February at Clarion University Theater. Balloons and three $10 gift cards will be given away daily.

Daily features will be:

  • Feb. 8: Book signings by local authors Diana Farley and Clarion English professor Dr. Phil Terman from 4 to 6 p.m.; refreshments
  • Feb. 9: 20 percent off winter clothing
  • Feb. 10: 20 percent off long-sleeved T-shirts; spirit face painting by Delta Zeta for local high school and CU basketball games; free mini basketballs to the first 250 customers; Jostens class rings, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Feb. 11: 20 percent off T-shirts; Jostens class rings, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Feb. 12: Buy one crew sweatshirt, get one for half off
  • Feb. 13: Drawing for Keurig, Bullet, Samsung
