Clarion University hosts pregnancy resources forum

April 7, 2016

Clarion University will hold its second Pregnancy Resources Forum at 1 p.m. April 20 in Carlson Library, Level A. The forum focuses on meeting the specific needs of pregnant and parenting students in the university.

The concept of the forum was developed by Serrin Foster, president of Feminists for Life, in 1997. Foster will moderate the forum, which consists of taking an inventory of pregnancy and parenting resources on and off campus and sharing solutions from other campuses. The forum guides audience members and panelists to set goals and create a tailor-made plan for the university. Participants will include representatives from Academic Affairs, Health and Wellness Services, Housing, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Support Services and Leadership and Involvement, among others. A number of external agencies from our area will also attend.

The Forum is sponsored by: Presidential Commission on the Status of Women, Women and Gender Studies Program, Pregnancy and Parenting Resources Initiative, Students for Life, Advisory Board for Leadership and Involvement, Clarion College Republicans, Clarion Young Democrats, Newman Association, Epicenter Church, Clarion VDay Project and Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

The event is free and open to the public. Pregnant and parenting students are especially welcome.
