Clarion University Theatre will present “amor fati” at 8 p.m. April 14-16 and at 2 p.m. April 17.
“amor fati” is an exhibition of aerial silks and dance in tandem with spoken material collected from Nietzsche and Epictetus writings. The philosophy of "loving one's fate" in an eternally recurring world sparked inspiration to experiment with movement and mold into this final, main stage production for the spring '16 semester.
Dancers are: Sam Atwell, St. Marys; Logan Honsaker, Twinsburg, Ohio; Brooke Schwabenbauer, Leeper; Paige Schwabenbauer, Leeper; and Arnita Thompson, Pittsburgh. Live voiceovers are done by: Justin Baumgarten, Philipsburg; Tori Heckert, Red Lion; Anna Matia, Pittsburgh; Betsy Novotny, Homestead; Thea Perkins, Greenville; Zack Persijn, Sarver; Colleen E. Scheerbaum, Strattanville; and Justin Yates, Harrisville.
Associate professor of theatre Ed Powers and his lighting design class are designing lights for the production, and the costume designer is theatre instructor Myra Bullington.
Students in the Dance Repertory (right) will open with "Be the Change," choreographed
by theatre professor Marilouise "Mel" Michel and the students. Dancers in this piece
are: Kourtney Brown, Arnold; Alyssa Creighton, Monroeville; Cameron Finney, Dravosburg;
Kiah Harrington-Wymer, Brookeville; Tori Heckert, Red Lion; Lyndsey Kujawa, Mt. Pleasant;
and Ashley Montgomery, Clarion.
