Clarion Circle K hosts Wish Week for a Make-a-Wish Foundation

February 4, 2015

Clarion University Circle K will host Wish Week Feb. 17-20. The week of events, consisting of indoor activities such as volleyball, dodge ball, Zumba and 3-on-3 basketball, is being held as a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Foundation, to help fulfill a child’s wish.

"Circle K began fundraising for Make-A-Wish last year, with a dodge ball tournament raising about $500," said Laurel Pierotti, public relations chair of Clarion's Circle K, college branch of the Kiwanis Club, which focuses on community service. "This year, we decided to make it a weeklong event to raise money for one child's wish."

Wish Week events begin at 6 p.m. (registration at 5 p.m.) in the Student Recreation Center. Donation to participate is $5, with all proceeds benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation. The schedule is:
• Feb. 17—Zumba
• Feb. 18—Volleyball tournament (teams of 6-8)
• Feb. 19—3-on-3 basketball tournament
• Feb. 20—Dodge ball tournament (teams of 6-8)

Circle K seeks donations of snacks and water for the participants and donations of gift cards and prizes for the winning teams. For information email Laurel Pierotti.
