Clarion University Art Department opens new exhibition titled, “Working Artists”

September 22, 2014
Clarion University Art Department will open an exhibition, “Working Artists,” at a reception from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 24 in Clarion University’s art gallery, Carlson Library, level A. Light refreshments will be served.
The exhibition, which combines artwork from the seven art faculty members and alumni from the art department, will run Sept. 24 through Dec. 12. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
"The idea of ‘working artists’ is to show the university and community that the alumni are still continuing art, even after graduation,” said Melissa Kuntz, art professor who coordinated and will participate in the exhibition.

Each artist will contribute two or three pieces. The work does not follow any theme or category.

The faculty artists include Jeremy Boyle, Vicky Clark, Kaersten Colvin-Woodruff, Mark Franchino, Gary Greenburg, Kuntz and Jim Rose. Each participating faculty member chose two or three alumni to contribute. They include: Marian Barber (’10), Jesse Caggiano (’13), Lori Grunick (’95), Mackenzie Lenhart (’14), Sundas Matloob, Rick Minard (’97), Anna Murray (’10), Marisa Lee Norwood (’13), Dan Perryman (’08), Kathy Rhoades (’95), Jennifer Rockage (’06), Stacey Roy (’14), Nicole (Herzing ’05) Simpson, Michael Stek (’96), Jason Strohm (’01, MFA ’05), Nicholas Sullivan, Adele (Boring ’05) Vensel and Jacob Yale (’04).
