Speaker addresses science and ethics of stem cell research

The Rev. Tadeusz Pacholczyk speak at 7 p.m. April 1 in Hart Chapel auditorium. His topic will be “Respect for the Human Embryo: The Science and Ethics of Stem Cell Research.”

Pacholczyk has a doctorate degree in neuroscience from Yale University, where he focused on cloning genes for neurotransmitter transporters which are expressed in the brain. He worked for several years as a molecular biologist at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Later, he did advanced work in bioethics and theology in Rome, examining the question of the ensoulment of the embryo.

The talk is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Students for Life, Newman Association, Young Conservatives of America and Young Americans for Liberty.
