Clarion SBDC hosts workshops for the public

Clarion University Small Business Development Center will host various workshops and seminars for personal and entrepreneurial growth:

  • Food for Profit, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 27 – Helps those interested in creating their own food business gather information to get started. Guest speakers and educational presentations will give a step-by-step guide on creating a business plan, financing the business, safe food preparation and storage. Cost is $45.   • QuickBooks 2013, Level I, 5:30 to 9 p.m. April 22 and 24 – Learn the basics of QuickBooks accounting software, including: setting up a company profile, navigating the system, accounts payable (entering/paying bills), accounts receivable (invoicing customers/receiving payment) and bank reconciliation. The course is approved for eight CPE credits through the Center for Accounting Education and Research. Cost is $199 (includes manual); register for Quickbooks Level II also (total $360), and save $38.   • QuickBooks 2013, Level II, 5:30 to 9 p.m. April 29 and May 1 – Learn the more advanced skills of the software, including: tracking and paying sales tax, inventory (tracking/adjusting), payroll (processing/reports), reports (balance sheet/income), statement (profi/loss), and customizing forms and reports. This course is approved for eight CPE credits through the Center for Accounting Education and Research. The Small Business Development Center offers resources and assistance to entrepreneurs interested in starting their own business.
